Dear Parish Family,
Today we celebrate The Most Holy Trinity. The Mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of the Christian faith and life...the source of all the other mysteries of faith, the light that enlightens them" (CCC 234). The three Persons of the Holy Trinity are distinct but not separate. Each has it’s own name because each is a distinct Person: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. While three persons, there is only one divine intellect and one divine will, which all three Persons share equally. This means what the Father knows, the Son and the Spirit know . What one Person wills, all three wills. The Holy Trinity is the greatest mystery of the Christian religion.
For the past 2 weekends, we have had outside Mass with Communion in our parking lots and they have been well attended. Parishioners have expressed their gratitude for being able to receive the Holy Eucharist. We will continue to celebrate the Communion Mass outside as we have been at the 5:00 pm Saturday night Vigil, Sunday at 8:00 am & 1:30 pm. Parishioners will park in our lot and live stream the Mass from their own devices. Mass will be celebrated in the Church, with only the Priests and Deacons inside. Once Mass is concluded the Priest and Deacon will walk to the parking lot and position themselves at the exits, one at the Bonnell Street exit and the other at the Shields Avenue exit. The Knights of Columbus have been so kind to offer their services, as they will be directing traffic and helping cars to exit. We will also have a Knight at the exits with collection baskets if you would like to use that method instead of mailing your donation. We would like to remind everyone that they are to remain in their cars at all times and follow the directions of the Knights.
This Sunday, we will add another Mass which will be at 10:30 am and it will have a live Mass outside on the back lawn. You will remain in your cars but you will be able to tune into FM radio station 106.5 to listen. You will have to remain in your cars. Once Mass has ended you will receive Communion as you exit the lot.
We are planning on reopening the weekend of June 13/14. As we detailed directives from the Diocese in regards to reopening our Churches, we will keep everyone informed with all the updates via our website, bulletin and Flocknote. Please feel free to check the website frequently for up to date information.
We will continue to live-stream the Mass every weekday at 8:00 am until we can all gather together in the Church for Mass.
Eucharistic Adoration is also available every day for you to come and pray silently, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm . Please remember that we are to follow social distancing while in the Church. The Church will be open for private prayer on Sunday from 9:00 to 1:00 pm.
Our priests are available to hear confessions, from 3:45 - 4:45 pm Saturday in the old Chapel.
The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available. Please call the Parish Office to make an appointment. In a true emergency please leave a message on the emergency extension.
I want to thank our parishioners who are currently contributing through our auto offertory program as well as those who continue to send in their donations by mail. On our web page we have set up ways to donate either electronically or by text. You can also physically drop your envelope off at the Parish Office between 10:00 - 1:00 weekdays in the plastic mail bin by the doors. A basket will be placed at the Church during Adoration hours. These donations and our regular envelope system make a real difference for St. Magdalen de Pazzi, especially now. Your gift to St. Magdalen’s and any extra sacrifice during these difficult days are most needed and appreciated.
This is a difficult time and I know some families are struggling. If there is a way we can help, we will. Please call or e-mail us if we can help in any way.
We continue to as for Mary's intercession for the healing and consolation of the world in the time of pandemic.
