Parish Update

06-01-2020NewsRev. Kenneth Brighenti, PhD

Dear Parish Family,

At Saint Mary Magdalen de Pazzi Parish as throughout our diocese, the Church will be without public Mass. Father Brighenti, Father Matt and Father Trigilio will be saying the Masses privately to fulfill the Mass Obligations. Daily a Mass will be celebrated by our priests so many will hopefully participate through live streaming. We are encouraged to make a Spiritual Communion opening our hearts so the Lord can commune with us. He is waiting; He is still stretching out his arms from the Cross!

Our Church doors will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and on Saturday 9:00 am - 3:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Praying in large groups, however, should be avoided. In all situations, participants should be encouraged to observe social distancing practices, recommending 6 feet of space between participants. The Church is open so that we can come on our own initiative on our own schedule to pray silently to the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, to pray the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet, the Stations of the Cross, etc.

Confessions will be on Saturday from 3:45-4:45pm in the New Adoration Chapel.

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available. Please call the Parish Office to make an appointment. In a true emergency please leave a message on the emergency extension.

Since the Funerals, Weddings and Baptism’s draws large crowds, all funerals, weddings and Baptism’s have been postponed.

Since public Mass has been suspended, our weekly financial resources have been severely reduced. Like you in your homes we still have to pay bills. On our web page we have set up ways to donate either electronically or by text. Simply follow the instructions. If there is a problem Regina in our office can help you via the phone. You can also mail or physically drop your envelope off at the Parish Office between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm weekdays in the plastic mail bin by the door. A basket will be placed at the church during adoration. The basket will be placed by the altar for security issues. However you choose please continue to give. This will secure our church when we all come out of this crisis.

Our Parish Offices are closed, please feel free to email or call us, someone will get back to you as soon as possible.

Finally, since Fr. John is here with us, we will taping our Web of Faith series, here at the parish and will put it on our web page. If you have religious questions you can submit them via email to

Remember with God’s help, we can all come through this crisis stronger in our faith.

May God Bless you and your families during this difficult time.

Fr. Ken
