May 10 Update

05-10-2020Weekly ReflectionFather Brighenti

Dear Parish Family,

I hope that all of you are taking care of yourselves and your families and are all well. It is easy to become discouraged, frightened or even anxious about Covid-19. But Jesus reminds us that he is present to us and with us, We always have to look for what is positive and hopeful in all of this, or else we give in to the doom and gloom, Think of what Jesus offers us to help us, His presence in the Word reassures us of his presence in our lives. Since we cannot gather as a community in the church, consider reading and reflecting on the Word as a family. Connect to the live streaming of the 8:00 am & 12:00 pm (Spanish) Sunday Mass to help you. It always helps families in times of difficulty to pray together, in whatever way works for you. It is important for all of us to be connected to the Lord and to one another at this time. All of us are in this together, and together we will survive it. But we cannot do this without the connection to the Lord, who reminds us of his abiding presence and love.

Join us each day for daily live stream Mass at 8:00 am by visiting our website or on our Facebook page. Eucharistic Adoration is also available every day for you to come and pray silently, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please remember that we are to follow social distancing while in the Church.

Our priests are available to hear confessions, from 2:00 - 2:45 pm Saturday & Sunday in the New Adoration Chapel.

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available. Please call the Parish Office to make an appointment. In a true emergency please leave a message on the emergency extension.

I want to thank our parishioners who are currently contributing through our auto offertory program as well as those who continue to send in their donations by mail. On our web page we have set up ways to donate either electronically or by text. You can also physically drop your envelope off at the Parish Office between 10:00 -1:00 weekdays in the plastic mail bin by the doors. A basket will be placed at the Church during Adoration hours. These donations and our regular envelope system make a real difference for St. Magdalen de Pazzi, especially now. Your gift to St. Magdalen’s and any extra sacrifice during these difficult days are most needed and appreciated.

This is a difficult time and I know some families are struggling. If there is a way we can help, we will. Please call or e-mail us if we can help in any way.

As we continue this special month of May devoted to Mary. Please join us in prayer as we honor Mary. It is a good moment to bring our family together and ask Mary's intercession for the healing and consolation of the world in the time of pandemic.
