Mass Updates

05-24-2020Weekly ReflectionFather Brighenti

Dear Parish Family,

Today we celebrate The Feast of the Ascension, the elevation of Christ into Heaven by His own power in presence of His disciples. Jesus reminds the apostles that he will always be with them, through his Spirit. We can easily see that he says the same to us, especially during this difficult time. Being reassured of his abiding presence and love can only motivate us to continue to live in faith and hope, as he invites us to celebrate this presence with each other, even if we do it from a distance.

I would like to share some good news. The Governor has given Churches permission to have outside Masses as long as we adhere to some guidelines. Beginning this Sunday, we will begin outside Mass with Communion in our parking lots on Sunday’s. Parishioners will be able to park in our lot and live stream the Mass from their own devices. Mass will be celebrated in the Church, with only the Priests and Deacons inside. Once Mass is concluded the Priest and Deacon will walk to the parking lot and position themselves at the exits, one at the Bonnell Street exit and the other at the Shields Avenue exit. The Knights of Columbus have been so kind to offer their services, as they will be directing traffic and helping cars to exit. We will also have a Knight at the exits with collection baskets if you would like to use that method instead of mailing your donation. We would like to remind everyone that they are to remain in their cars at all times and have the windows closed.

We will continue to live-stream the Mass every weekday at 8:00 am until we can all gather together in the Church for Mass.

Eucharistic Adoration is also available every day for you to come and pray silently, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please remember that we are to follow social distancing while in the Church.

Our priests are available to hear confessions, from 2:00 - 2:45 pm Saturday & Sunday in the New Adoration Chapel.

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available. Please call the Parish Office to make an appointment. In a true emergency please leave a message on the emergency extension.

I want to thank our parishioners who are currently contributing through our auto offertory program as well as those who continue to send in their donations by mail. On our web page we have set up ways to donate either electronically or by text. You can also physically drop your envelope off at the Parish Office between 10:00 -1:00 weekdays in the plastic mail bin by the doors. A basket will be placed at the Church during Adoration hours. These donations and our regular envelope system make a real difference for St. Magdalen de Pazzi, especially now. Your gift to St. Magdalen’s and any extra sacrifice during these difficult days are most needed and appreciated.

This is a difficult time and I know some families are struggling. If there is a way we can help, we will. Please call or e-mail us if we can help in any way.

We continue to as for Mary's intercession for the healing and consolation of the world in the time of pandemic.
