Dear Parish Family,
As Holy Week approaches, our parish as well as all the parishes in our Diocese will be without Easter and Holy Week public Masses . Father Brighenti, Father Matt and Father Trigilio will be celebrating the Masses live as we have been in the last week or so. You may view the Mass on our website or by going to our Facebook page.
Holy Week will begin on Palm Sunday with Mass at 8:00 am and 12:00 pm (Spanish) and it will conclude on Easter Sunday, with Mass at 8:00 am and 12:00 pm (Spanish). There will be no Eucharistic Adoration on Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday & Easter. The faithful are granted a dispensation from abstaining from meat on Fridays for the rest of Lent, except Good Friday which is universal law and a day of fasting and abstaining from meat.
“As we prepare for Holy Week, even though we will not be physically connected, I encourage everyone to join us virtually in the spiritual celebration of the Paschal Mysteries,” said Bishop Checchio. “We need prayer now more than ever, and we especially pray that through these sacrifices, the joys of Easter will likewise be heightened for us too!”
We are all encouraged to make a Spiritual Communion opening our hearts so the Lord can commune with us. He is waiting; He is still stretching out his arms from the Cross! Although we are not celebrating public Masses, our Church doors are open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily and on Saturday & Sunday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. For you to come and pray silently.
Our priests are available to hear confessions, from 9:30 am to 10:00 am & 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm in the New Adoration Chapel.
The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available. Please call the Parish Office to make an appointment. In a true emergency please leave a message on the emergency extension.
Since public Mass has been suspended, our weekly financial resources have been severely reduced. Like you in your homes we still have to pay bills. On our web page we have set up ways to donate either electronically or by text. Simply follow the instructions. If there is a problem Regina in our office can help you via the phone. You can also mail or physically drop your envelope off at the Parish Office between 10:00-1:00 weekdays in the plastic mail bin by the doors. A basket will be placed at the Church during adoration. The basket will be placed by the Altar for security issues. however you choose please continue to give. This will secure our Church when we all come out of this crisis.
Remember with God’s help, we can all come through this crisis stronger in our faith.
May God Bless you and your families during this difficult time.
