The Roman Catholic Church of St. Magdalen de Pazzi exists to echo Jesus' call to all: "Come and Follow Me."
Our patroness, Saint Magdalen de Pazzi poetically prayed, “Come Holy Spirit! Consume in us whatever prevents us from being consumed in you.” Although this may seem like a pious expression that only a distant, unfamiliar saint could make, truly, it expresses the deepest desire of each one of us.
As we race about, pressured on every side to meet expectations and achieve all the things in life that we hope will make us happy, what each of us truly wants, deep down, is that all of our nagging questions, all of our doubts, all of our hurts, and all of our sins would be removed so that we could rest in God’s truth, in his love, in his justice, and in his mercy- in other words, to be totally consumed in God. Our parish exists to echo Jesus’ call to each one of us to follow him, for he is the way, the truth, and the life. He is the answer to our deepest human desires; he is the gate which leads to the loving arms of God our father.
