Bereavement Group

This group serves to comfort those who have suffered the loss of a loved one.  When Bereavement Support Groups are in session, they meet in Our Lady of Hope House (next to the convent) for two hours each week to help parishioners experience the healing that begins when they walk their grief journey with others along side them.

Coordinator:  Carol Camerino at 788-0915

English as a Second Language

These classes meet Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm in the Spiritual Formation Center.

Coordinator:  Yvonne Shephard at 788-5502

Interfaith Hospitality

This ministry provides an opportunity for our parishioners to join with other faith communities to minister to homeless neighbors in need.  Hospitality is extended to each guest in the form of food, clothing and shelter.  Stewards are needed to provide dinner and to stay overnight at the sheltering church.

Lazarus Group

This ministry helps parishioners at the time of loss by making codolence calls, getting meals ready, as well as keeping in touch with the bereaved in the weeks and months following the loss.

Coordinator:  Carol Camerino at 788-0915

Rainbows is a nationally known program for children dealing with the loss due to separation, divorce or death in the family.  It is a peer support group, not counseling or therapy.  The next 10 week session will begin on Thursday, January 4, 2007 in the Our Lady of Hope House.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

This group was established in our parish to offer assistance to those in need, on  a person-to-person basis.  At St. Magdalen's our focus is on food distribution, information and referral services embracing the lonely and forgotten.

Special Considerations:  Stewards are needed to help stock our food pantry, prepare bags of food, and deliver food to the people in need.  This group meets on Tuesday  mornings for about 2 hours.  Please join us when you are able.

Coordinators:  for immediate needs contact Carmel Gettings at 782-2922 ext. 227; to assist in this ministry contact Barbara Plunkett at 609-397-5245.
