Penance
Catholics should make frequent use of this sacrament. We respectfully remind everyone of the words of our Holy Father, Pope John Paul: "Anyone who goes to Communion frequently must also go frequently to Confession."
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered on Saturdays from 4:00 pm - 4:40 pm. The Confessional is located in the Chapel.

Eucharist
The true presence of Jesus Christ is the heart of the Eucharist. The Eucharist's priority over all other sacraments follows not only from its bestowing the fruit of salvation upon us, but also from its rendering present in a special way, the source of salvation, Jesus Christ himself. St. Magdalen's celebrates the Sacrifice of the Mass weekdays at 7:00 am and 9:00 am; Saturdays at 9:00 am and 5:00 pm and Sundays at 7:30 am 9:00 am, 10:30 around 12:00 noon.
Those confined to home due to age or illness may contact the Parish Office to arrange for a minister of the Eucharist to bring you Holy Communion.

Confirmation
The Sacrament of confirmation is a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit in which a baptized person is sealed with the gift of the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity. Even though the baptized person has already received the Holy Spirit in Baptism, this special seal of the Holy Spirit is given to bind the person even more closely to Christ and His Church. Confirmation is administered to students in the 8th grade Religious Education Program, however, preparation classes in both 7th and 8th grade are required.
Adult Confirmation is administered each year after Easter. Preparation classes are required and take place in the weeks before Easter. Please contact Dolores Wright at 908-782-1359 for more information.

Anointing of the Sick
The anointing of the sick is administered to bring spiritual and even physical strength during an illness, especially near the time of death. Because of the sacrament's relationship with the forgiveness of sins, it can only be administered by a priest. Cannon law states "The anointing of the sick can be administered to any member of the faithful who, having reached the use of reason, begins to be in danger by reason of illness or old age." A new illness or a renewal or worsening of the first illness enables the person to receive the sacrament a further time.
