Religious Formation
Catholic Nursery School Program
The Catholic Nursery School program is designed for children ages 3-5 to help them learn and grow in the most satisfying and constructive ways possible. Elements of Christian education are incorporated into daily activities. Catholic faith for young children is transmitted through examples of love, sharing and showing of respect for others.
Children share prayers, stories, plays and songs and are introduced to bible lessons and God's love.

Home Schooling
St. Magdalen's Home Schooling group provides their children religious and academic education at home. Participating parents feel they have been spiritually called to this mission, and offer spiritual, educational and social support to one another, while providing essential children's education at home.
St. Magdalen's Home Schooling families meet for the 9:00a.m. First Friday Mass and Eucharistic Adoration and then gather for teaching and other activities in the Spiritual Formation Center.
Special Considerations: Those interested are invited to attend one of the First Friday Masses and educational classes following the Mass.

Religious Education
"Catechism is an education in the faith of children, young people and adults" that especially includes the teaching of Christian doctrine.
Religious Education provides religious education for children from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade. The ultimate goal is to lead our families to love the person of Jesus Christ and to understand and appreciate the salvation and the new life of grace that He has won for us.
Special Considerations: Stewards will need to commit 1.25 hours each week, as teachers, teacher's aides, substitute teachers; there also is a need for traffic guards, baby sitters and hall monitors. New catechist training is held prior to the start of classes in the fall. No matter what talents, there is always a place in religious education for members of the parish.
Coordinators: Sister Donna Marie Lasota, 908-782-2922, Ext. 236, and Maggie Castles, 908-782-2922, Ext. 213

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a week-long youth centered program that allows the children of our parish (Pre-K through 5th grade) to gather together in faith during the summer break. Each year, a theme is chosen so that the children can fully celebrate Jesus' love for each other by way of skits, Bible stories, arts and crafts, song, and play.
