From the earliest time I can remember, I have been going to church and hungering for a relationship with God. My parents diligently took me to Sunday services in the Presbyterian Church and I came to know and love the Lord in a very personal way. My desire to understand Him and His word drove me to intense Bible study and ultimately to pursue a degree in Theology. I've continued to feel His presence in so many ways throughout my life... The same Jesus I encountered as a young boy is the one who comforted Karen and me when our son Jack was diagnosed with type one diabetes at the age of two. He has been with us through many sorrows and challenges and also in our greatest joys and realization of dreams throughout the years.
Since coming into the Catholic Church in the year 2000, I’ve begun to find His Real Presence in the Eucharist and adoration. The sacrament of confession has transformed the way I think and act. I've become a better father, friend, husband, leader, and coworker. I've always wanted to live for Him and He keeps drawing me closer in daily prayer and reflection as the years go by.
The Holy Spirit continues to amaze and humble me. I am learning in a new and deeper way how to follow the small inner promptings He whispers, how to make the best use of my time and energies- to be an instrument in His hands and a witness to his love and mercy in my life in the Parish, at home and at work. I'm at peace because I know He's always been here and he'll never forsake me. If I remain open to Him, and honest with myself and others, I can continue to grow in holiness and fall ever more deeply in love with Him. He's who I live for and I'm elated to follow and share this friendship with everyone the Lord puts in my path.
