Easter 2015

04-05-2015Weekly ReflectionFr. Tim Christy

Dear Parish Family:

The dark news of the world can become unbearable.  We become accustomed to hearing so many tragic events from all over the world; in particular the persecution and putting to death of our Christian brothers and sisters in the Middle East.  It is also true that we can become overwhelmed with the darkness of our own lives.  This is why we so desperately need to celebrate Easter!

The world knows joy when we come to know Christ and the life that He gives us from His Resurrection. In the days and weeks ahead, let us take every opportunity to drink in this great truth. The Easter joy is that our deepest longing comes true: goodness overcomes evil.  No force will ultimately be able to stop God’s good providence in our lives.

I take this opportunity to thank you for your presence in our community of faith. This is our time of year to take stock in how precious our faith truly is and to recommit ourselves to living it to the fullest. Come and celebrate His Risen life with us every Sunday, as every Sunday is a “little Easter! It is in our offering of ourselves with Jesus that we enter over and over into His Easter life! Invite friends and people you know who may have fallen away from the practice of the faith to join with us. All are welcome to return, to start again and celebrate the Good News.

From all of us here in our parish, Father Joseph, our deacons, Sisters of Jesus Our Hope, and our entire staff, may you and your family have a holy and Blessed Easter! Please keep the work and ministry of our parish in your daily prayers. May the risen Christ shine His peace on us, and may we have the courage to form our lives in the pattern of His life so that we might know His joy!

Sincerely in the Risen Christ,
Father Tim Christy
